Tips for spring cleaning your website

1

Have you been spring cleaning? Well, while you’re scrubbing the bathroom or getting rid of unwanted clothes, don’t forget your financial business.
Ensure your website is clean and up to date. Your website is somewhere visitors can access 24/7 and is like your shop front so you want to be making the best impression.
If you’re a financial business which values a personal approach, innovative thinking and providing the best service, then why should your website be any different?

Spring clean key areas of your website:

  • The layout and look
The design of your website is very important. Not only does it make your website look visually attractive but it also incorporates the layout and why certain aspects are placed on the web page. Make sure you’re on trend and your website has all the functionality you need to deliver your service to clients.
  • Website content
Review the content that is on your website. You might find that there is out of date information or you need to add content. You want to ensure it is still relevant and useful for your website visitors.
  • User experience
An online user’s experience should be as seamless as an in-person customer experience. Can they access the necessary information as easily as possible? Does the page load within a reasonable time? Is there too much content overwhelming the visitor? Make the user experience as easy and smooth as possible.
  • Website links
Are all your website pages still live? Are they relevant? You want to check that links including any in the body of your text are still valid. Especially any that link out to a third party website. It’s a good idea to think about whether it’s still needed too.
  • Call-to-actions (CTAs)
Are they obvious? Do they exist? Your CTAs should be prominent and direct visitors to take their next steps. Whether it’s getting in touch or filling in a lead magnet, ensure that CTA is visible. It could be the difference between converting a visitor or not.
  • Ongoing SEO
There’s no doubt that ranking highly on a search engine does you good. So why wouldn’t you want to make sure you’re doing all you can to be higher than your competitors? Whether you’re starting from scratch or updating your website, ongoing SEO is the way to go to maintaining your position and to make sure you’re following best practices.
Now you’ve got some ideas of what to review on your website, make sure you action them!
